Kailash Manasarovar Yatra (05 Days Trip By Helicopter)
This tour is perfect solution for the yatris / pilgrims, who cannot take out two weeks from their busy lives, but have ardent desire to pay obeisance to Lord Shiva at the feet of Mt. Kailash. The itinerary does not include the 3 day parikrama around Mt. Kailash.
Therefore, this tour plan is also very well suited to elders and those with lower fitness levels. The major part of the journey is covered by specially chartered helicopter.

Location : Lucknow - Nepalgunj - Simikot - Hilsa - Manasarovar - Hilsa - Nepalgunj - Lucknow.
Detailed Itinerary
Day 01 :
This exclusive tour starts from Nepalgunj which is around 165 kms from Lucknow and approximately 100 kmss from Gonda Railway Station. One can go by train or one can also opt for Delhi – Lucknow by flight and evening transfer to Nepalgunj. O/n Hotel Vatika or Sneha. Those, who arrive at Kathmandu, have to bear the additional cost of flight from Kathmandu to Nepalgunj.
Day 02:
After having early breakfast at the hotel, proceed for Nepalgunj Airport to board the flight to simikot. Before 12:00 noon, first leg of journey will be over. On arrival transfer to Sun Valley resort for staying overnight. Rest of day will be free for acclimatization because Simikot is located at the altitude of 10,000 ft. and enjoying the beautiful vista of Himalayan valley.
Day 03 :
With early breakfast at the Guest House, proceed towards Hilsa from Simikot air strip by 20 - 25 minutes helicopter ride. On landing at Hilsawe walk up to Chinese check post that is situated at a distance of approx. Half a km. Across the river. We croos the bridge on foot. Sherapas are available to take care of the luggage. After clearing the formalities at Chinese security check post, we board the awaiting Jeeps which will take us to Purang (Taklakot ). This is the second day of acclimatization at altitude of 12,800 ft. We stay overnight at Purang Guest House. Purang is a small border town of Tibet. One can also buy things of personal necessities here.
Day 04 :
The days during Kailash pilgrimage start early. After having breakfast, we board the landcruisers and proceed for Rakshesh Tal / Ravan Tal (1 Hrs drive ). This is the lake one the banks of which, the mightly Ravana is said to have done penance to please Lord Shiva. Further 30 min. drive for Manasarovar. Take Holy dip and perform pooja and further proceed to Mt. Kailash which is 40 kms. from Lake Manasarovar. Then, we will be driving towards Ashtapad. It is believed that Adinath Rishabdeva, the first Tirtnankar attained Nirvana here. At this point we are at the altitude of 16,000 ft. and this is the nearest point one can have sight of Kailash and Trinetra.
We spend sometime doing meditation and taking in the positive vibrations of the place. Now we are at the point of start of the return journey. On the way back, we complete Manasarovar Parikarma by jeeps (at Chu Gompa which is the completion point of Parikarma, there is the hot spring one can spend sometime to take a bath, if one wishes). Late evening return back to Guest House at Purang.
Day 05 :
Early morning , after completing immigration return back to Hilsa, onway one can visit Khojar Nath Buddhish Temple. Then board the Helicopter back to Simikot. Brunch at the Sun Valley Resort and afternoon latest by 13:00 hrs catch the flight to return back to Nepagunj and proceed for Lucknow to reteun home.
Notes:
* Above tour is organised from Mid May till Oct.
* During Mansoon time, though we have not announced any fixed departure but operation will continue, one only has to keep a few days extra in hand to accommodate any disruptions due to bad weather.
* Starting point of the tour is Napalgunj. One can reach there via Lucknow / Gonda / Kathmandu.
* Total duration is 5 days. (Kailash Parikrama is not included in this trip).

Mode of Transport: :
* Lucknow - Nepalgunj - Lucknow will be done by a car.
* Nepalgunj - Simikot - Nepalgunj will be done by Flight.
* Simikot - Hilsa will be done by Charter Helicopter.
* From the first border town (Shera) of Tibet, the transfers to and from will be done by Toyota Land cruisers.
Accommodation:
All the accommodation & all meals are included in the tour cost. Accommodation will be provided in Hotels/ Guest house OR Tents as per available facility.
Medical Facilities :
The region that we travel to, is one of the remotest parts of the world. Therefore,very limited medical facility is available in Tibet. That too is very distantly located. Our Guide having certificate of paramedic courses will accompany the group, who will take care of only few Medical issues at high altitudes. Personal Medical kit & medicines are recommended. One must carry their prescription medicines as per their regular doctor's advise.
Guide :
Well – experienced Tibetan guide will accompany the group, supported by Tour Leader from India or Nepal.
Tour Cost:
US $ 3000 + tax per person For Non Indian Passport Holders OR INR 1,65,000 + tax per person for Indian passport holders. (This is 2013 rate, Tour cost is subject to change depending on the Rates announced by TAR for 2014).
The above tour cost includes :
* From Lucknow to Lucknow all expenses are included except expenses of personal nature.
* Helicopter Charter charges.
* Chinese Visa, Tibet permit and Kailash permit. Nepal permit (Humla), Officers fee, Sherapa supporting staff, Nepalese Tour Leader, Tibetan local guide.
The tour cost excludes :
* Travel/ Personal Insurance
* Emergency evacautions/ Rescue, if required.
* Any expenses of personal nature and NOT included in the "tour cost includes" section above, are additional.
* Additional days due to weather condition, Chinese Govt rule or any other unavoidable situation, Visitors have to directly incur these additional unforseen expenses.
Permission and Official Formalities:
* A valid passport is pre-requisite to undertake this tour.
* Tibetan Permit & Chinese Group Visa are mandatory for this tour, which is included in the tour cost.
* Medical Fitness certificate stating that the traveller is not suffering from any type of respiratory diseases such as Asthma (issued by registered medical practioner) is needed. The certificate should clearly state that the person concerned is fit to travel at high altitude.
* No permission is required from the Indian or the Nepalese Govt.
